Synoptic Media’s Liza Olson is a professional Story Analyst focused on delivering customized script analysis to meet clients' unique needs. Her clients include production companies, talent agencies, managers, financiers, and writers.
Liza was previously on the Acquisitions team at Osiris Entertainment where she sourced and evaluated completed films to acquire for worldwide distribution. Liza was the Vice President of Creative Affairs at the Los Angeles-based film finance company Great Road Capital where she led the sourcing and creative vetting of entertainment projects and assisted in business development. She has judged screenplay competition submissions for ScreenCraft and the Cinequest Film Festival. She serves on the selection committee for the EDU Film Festival in Minnesota and has volunteered as a screener for the Hollywood Film Festival and the Beloit International Film Festival.
Prior to working in the entertainment industry, Liza was a News Producer and Writer for NBC Bay Area, NBC's television station in the San Francisco Bay Area. She studied screenwriting and feature film development at UCLA Extension and earned a B.A. in Communication from the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
Liza was a finalist in both the 2011 Creative World Awards' Sitcom Writing competition and the 2011 Hollywood Screenplay Contest's Spec Script competition, and a semi-finalist in UCLA Extension's Half-Hour Television Writing competition.
